You are almost in my neck of the woods. Just further down on 44, take the Lake of the Ozarks exit and you are in my place of birth and residence of 46 years. Truthfully I would avoid that tourist trap but I was there when it was fairly new. It was wonderful at that time.
We're in Branson now, and it is - as they say - a fun place to visit... Like Sin City without the sin. April is having a great time! Wouldn't want to live just right here though, it is very touristy. Although I love the scenery in this part of the country. The rivers and the green everywhere....
